A Layout Finally

This layout was fun to do for something different.  Yellow spot paper is October Afternoon, one of my fave companies.

My friend, Yvette, Cuttlebugged the huge paper flower.  I can't believe how fantastic this looks.  As Yvette says, she Cuttlebugs the #*#* out of everything!  Now I've got this flower I can't blame her!

Ahhh sunflowers are such a happy flower!

My Dressing Table

This is the first piece of furniture I'll show you.  You see I had this (to some people, strange) idea to paint my dressing table a lemon colour.  Yuck you might say but I LOVE it!  It fits my room perfectly.  In fact, I think I'm going to scrapbook these photos soon.

This piece cost me only $20 and considering the handles were still intact and in good condition and so was the mirror I think I got a bargain!  A sample pot of paint for under $7 later and look at it.  It was already white so I only had to sand the drawers a little for a shabby look.  Some liquid beeswax to finish off - this was only about $7 for a whole bottle too.  This will do several pieces of furniture.  How inexpensive was this project?  I've probably spent that much on a layout before!

I'm Back!

I'm sorry blog - I've been very slack - please forgive me!

I do have an excuse or two or three.  Firstly I moved house, secondly I have 2 lazy teenagers and had to do everything by myself, and thirdly I re-discovered the fun of doing up old furniture.  I used to do this many, many years ago and have not had the need for more furniture in the past.  Nor did I have anywhere to restore it!  Now I have a huge double garage and concrete driveway - perfect for my furniture restoration.

So I haven't been doing much scrapbooking but I will show you what little bit I have been doing plus I'll also show you some of the other projects I have been busy with, including a quilted throw for my bed.  You see, I decided to change the colour of my bed linen and felt it needed something extra.  Hence the quilt!

Anyway, today is my niece Tamara's birthday so I'll show you the card I made her. Happy 18th Tamara- I can't believe you're 18 already!
